Every journey has to begin somewhere!
A LITTLE WRITING BACKGROUND
My story is yet another, "well, you just never know" Hollywood story in regard to the first script I ever wrote, which was also the first script I was ever paid to write and, oh by the way, the first script I'd ever seen - once it came out of the printer back in the early 1990's for the (RIP) DP of Renegade when I did some extra work on that show and others in San Diego. I wrote it in 3 weeks, and thought I'd taken too long... that included him telling me the story, reading a book on script formatting, buying a computer, printer, and the writing program, "ScriptThing" (now Movie Magic Screenwriter). The program was on floppy disks and included a t-shirt (which I wish I still had!). Since then I've been blessed to be involved in various aspects of the "Industry" and meet some amazing writers (and actors, set designers, etc.) - many of whom I'm humbled to now call my friends.
The information below concerns a few scripts I've written. At this point they are "spec(ulative)" which, in "Industry" terms mean, "no pay, at all" YET. After a final polish I will get them "out there" and, hopefully, update status. Fingers crossed it'll involve a sale and possibly the making of the movie! Stranger things have happened and, they have happened to me so... keeping the faith.
2023 UPDATE:
I'm STILL plowing through turning June Scroggins' story, RED HAIR AND GREEN WATERS, into a script - adding a bit more of June's and actual 1946/47 CA history, filling in some more of the characters and, changing the ending to be more accurate, too. Hasn't been easy... as full-time sole caregiver for elderly family member the past 6+ years, it's been a LOT to juggle.
THE CAR
Most everyone remembers their first... car.
NEXTDOOR STRANGERS
They seemed like such nice people...
SHORT / TITLE TBD
A short I'm writing specifically for my wonderful actor friend whose episodic recently premiered at Sundance - sending a HUGE woohooo CONGRATS to him!!!
TRI-AGE
Three couples in their 30's healing past wounds with help from family, friends and faith.
DESERT ROSE
A great "Army Buddy" script which I wrote for/with a friend. It had interest in the past but the timing was too close to "The Kite Runner" - it's inspired by true events. We are now updating.
BUT NEVER STOP.
